tach readings for 2000 f250 sd v-10

Trying to find some reference for RPM - to - MPH. For instance, when I am running on the highway at 65 mph, my tach is reading about 2.3 x 1000 RPM. Is this correct/average for the v-10? It seems a little high to me. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Re: tach readings for 2000 f250 sd v-10

that sounds about right to me but the determining factors are the ratio of the trans you have and the rear end ratio.
in my other truck with a C-6 auto and 350 gears @ 65 mph i would be running 3,000 rpm.
so my estimate would put you around 2,300 - 2,500 with a 4 th gear not knowing the gear ratio.

Mine with a 5 speed manual, 4.10 rear end ratio sits at around 2500- 2600 rpm (from memory) at 65mph (105 kph). So i reckon 2300 is pretty good.

Agreed...with a 4.10 rear end, I am running abour 2200-2300 at 65 mpr, and about 2500 at 70 mph
