Not sure what happened here...

I have an '86 f150 with 302 and auto tranny. Had the truck when I lived in Jacksonville, ran fine as my beach truck, then put it on a car dolly and towed it to Pensacola. Went to drive it for the first time and all the sudden it wouldn't get out of first. Has plenty of fluid in tranny. Shifts from park to reverse and into gear and back with no problem. Not sure where to go with this one?

Did you haul it with the back wheels on the ground, drive shaft in place and in neutral? I've seen a many of transmissions burnt up this way.

Wow!! Yes, That's exactly what I did. Figured that's what I was suppose to do. What would've been the best way?

Unbolt the drive shaft from the differential & tie it up so the transmission would not turn.

More than likely you are looking at a rebuild.

Not great news, but sometimes I've gotta learn the hard way. It's just my run around truck so it's not going to be looked at quickly. But I know where I should go from here though. Appreciate your help.
