Trans flush

2006 F450 landscape dump - dealer wants $230 for 60K trans flush, do they actually flush it w/ something or just drain & add new trans fluid? Should we do it ourselves?

Re: Trans flush

transmission flush they hook it to a machine and push clean fluid into the system... it is easier on the pump and stuff... doing a pan drop doesnt clean out the whole system but you can change the filter that is neglected to be changed during a fluid flush and causes the pump to run dry for a lil bit till new stuff has entered... either way... best do the combination of doing the flush to clean system, then drop filter... and then flush again to refill pump without car running... done this in past but may cost a lil more... most times i drop and change filter and then use a cleaner in the lines, blow out the lines, then reinstall stuff and add fluid...
