Transmission Question

Hey guys, first time on this forums. I would like to ask a question about a transmission pulling capacity. I have a 1999 Ford F-250 Super-Duty, 5.4l Triton gas engine, automatic transmission and I would like to know the pulling capacity for the transmission. I would want to add a fifth wheel and pull my own float with my backhoe.

Thank you.

Re: Transmission Question

Look in owners manual, I believe its listed under towing capacity. If you don't have one you can download one https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

I didn't find the right manual on that site, they have F250 light duty only. Also on starting my pickup I smell gas from the exhaust, how come?

Re: Transmission Question

Gas from the exhaust could be a lot of things. Has it been tuned recently?

Re: Transmission Question

It's for the super duty. I found the info on http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/1999/...ercab-XL/Specs

*edit - I'm not for sure why it's showing 5 speed manual, I left w/o auto transmission unchecked on option page. You can do a new search here http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/Research-Center
