i have a 79 ford f250. when its not cold it starts fine. when it is you don't get nothing when in park and try to start. but if you put it in nuetral it starts right up. i don't know much about fords. why would this happen? thanks
Starter interlock switch would be my guess..... assuming (you didn't really say for sure) that it won't CRANK in park when cold, but will in neutral. The "park" interlock switch is gunked up so that it mechanically hangs up when cold, but functions when warm. Clean or replace it, and you should be fine.
where is the park interlock switch and is it easy to replace? thanks for the info, and sorry i don't know much about fords and my other cars are manual. thanks
