Yesterday I changed the main fuel filer on my '97 F-250HD 4X4 460. I gotta say it was just plain hard to do. The filter is pretty inaccessible AND those "garter spring" connector clips are a royal PITA! The clips require a special tool and even at that are VERY reluctant to come loose. I'm an experienced mechanic and it took me THREE hours to do the job! The job is complicated by the fact that the front gas tank skid plate must be dropped down to get access. I don't think there is an easy way" to do this job
