weird noises

I have a 1999 f150 and it sounds like chains rattling under my truck whenever I hit a bump. I looked under it but i cant find anything that would be making that noise. Does anyone know what it could be?

Re: weird noises

Tap the catalytic convertors lightly with a rubber mallet and see if you hear anything.

Re: weird noises

Check the sway bar endlinks. When the bushings rot out the endlink will just shoot up and down through the lower control arm making a chain noise when you hit bumps.
