I've had my 1986 F250 parked over the winter, and am about to go home to insure and tune it up. I bought it last year but never did much work on it, but I want to get it in premium running condition. What should I do? I figured I'd start by changing the oil, cleaning the plugs, etc. I'm fairly new to vehicles but my dad can definitely get his way around them and I'm just wondering what a good list of things to do in a day would be.

I would change the plugs, cap, rotor & possibily the plug wires. Along with the oil, I'd replace the fuel filter, air filter and check the PCV valve.

Might also have a look at the radiator hoses. When cold, squeeze the hoses, if they feel crunchy or brittle, they need replacing.
