I have a 1994 ford f150 xl with the 4.9 I6 engine and a 5 speed transmission 2wd. I need to do a full transmission swap and just need to know the exact model transmission that I need to buy. Thanks. All is appreciated.

Do you not have a sticker / plate on door jamb which gives you the info ?

It's probably the M5R2, built by Mazda. Google it and see if it looks like yours, The trannys are pretty distinctive in how they look.

My '73 has a 5 speed out of a 93 F-150, I figured yours probably be the same.
