i have a 97 4.2 and a 99 4.2.im taking the 97 and puting it in my 99 ford.so im swapping everything off the old 99 motor and installing on the 97 but the 97"s e.c.t is right up front like on most engines.right by where the thermostat is located, along with the water temperature indicator sending unit.or the the computer temperature sending unit.(was what the book was calling it.)(not sure if those are the same or not). but on my 99 motor i cant find a electrical plug on the wiring harness that goes to the ect.it is not located in the same place as the 97 motor.it hasnt got the water temp indicator or even a spot for it in the center head.and the spot where the ect is on the 97 has a brass plug in it on the 99 motor.but it always has had a thermostat guage that read correctly with the 99 motor in it.i just cant locate this sensor.so im lost with this.plz help.
