Question Wiring help to wire a Dura Spark II system

I have a '90 F150 with a damaged 302 engine. I would like to replace it with a good '85 engine and C6 trans.

I realize I have to modify the wiring to supply the Duar spark II ignition system. I need to run the power wire and start/run wire to the Dura spark II ignition system.

I have looked at a chiltons wiring diagram with little luck.

Any help in identifying the power wire and start/run wire on the '90 wiring to wire in the Duraspark II would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance.

Re: Wiring help to wire a Dura Spark II system

im not one hundred percent sure but pretty close that most of the ignitions are the same. right at the duraspark module itself you should have a plug in with a bunch wires coming out of it. again im not certain but if you pop your hood and look at the ignition you should see i believe a group of 4 wires running into it and then a group of 2 wires going into the duraspark module. the group of two wires should be colored one red and one white. the red one supplys power while the key is switched to ignition and the white one is the resistor by pass which is used to give the ignition the full 12 volt to assist start up.

Re: Wiring help to wire a Dura Spark II system

You are correct. However I am trying to identify which wires on the '90 harness will supply power while the key is switched to ignition (to the red wire on the Duraspark) and which is the resistor by pass which is used to give the ignition the full 12 volt to assist start up.(to the white wire on the Duraspark).

Thank You 302lifer.
