Re: lightning engine?

I put a 93 "L" engine and trans in my 92 f150, stock was a 302 w/AOD. the hardest part was the tranny conversion......had to swap all the wiring from the donor truck into my truck, for the tranny controls. Still having some issues w/the ECU, also the Lightning is only 2 wheel drive, so i have some shifting issues in 4 low, but other that that.......HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!!!!

Re: lightning engine?

Screw the "L" engine. Build up a 351C.

Re: lightning engine?

The 5.4 Lightning swap would be bad.

351 is 5.4 liters. You would probably have to change everything, new wiring harness, the transmission that goes with it etc etc. It would be very costly.

Re: lightning engine?

351 is NOT 5.4L, it's 5.8

He's talking about the 1st gen NA Lightning engine, not the SC mod motor.
