ford 5.oL low oil pressure

i've noticed that the oil pressure on my 302 drops from bout 60 psi when cold to 5 psi when at running temperature. should i be concerned with the 5 psi?

5 pounds is too low. Now, as it shows higher I can almost rule out a bad sending unit. You can try using a thicker oil. However, I think the pump itself, is on its way out.

Is that 5psi at idle when warm? Does it come up when you rev the engine?

At the time of this posting I was using 10-30 oil. Switched to a 50 weight racing oil. Pressure seems to be better,now.
