Ford team leader, Toni Gardemeister endured a difficult opening to the Rally Mexico Friday, the Finn ending the day tenth overall, behind fellow team-mates, Roman Kresta, Daniel Sola and Anthony Warmbold.
Gardemeister, who was running first on the road, and as a consequence was sweeping away the loose gravel, was also suffering as he has a bad case of the flu, not exactly ideal when you are trying to go hell for leather over six stages. As a result, the current leader of the drivers' championship, admitted that he might have been over-driving.{br}{br}
