Xavier Pons has put in the drive of his life to lead the assault and the Spaniard holds a slim 8.3 second advantage over 'Gigi' Galli after eight stages and 135.02 kilometres of competition. In the overall Group N leaderboard, Lancer Evolution drivers hold six of the top 10 positions, with Sandro Wallenwein seventh and giving the new Lancer Evolution VIII MR a fine debut outing.{br}{br}
