1999 Lincoln Navigator, Steering Noise, Or Suspension?

A low thud/klank noise randomly is audible from what sounds like the drivers side front end/suspension, could it be a steering problem or suspension, noticed most when cool outside or not driven for a day or two ...

Case of getting it jacked up and checking over steering and suspension for any wear or play in any bushes , joints or mountings .
