1999 Navigator, Oil Pump Replacement

I was taken for a ride so to speak, mechanic said my only problem was oil sensor, NOT TRUE. Problem/noise continued, does anyone have an estimate of either cost or number of hours to replace oil pump an adjust timing chain guides, clean out built up oil sludge within engine?
