DETROIT -- The 2007 Lincoln MKZ will go on sale with just a modest bump in price from its predecessor model.
The first units of the MKZ sedan will arrive at dealerships this month with a base price of $29,890, including shipping. The 2006 model, which had the Zephyr name, had a base price of $29,660.
Other than the name change, Lincoln added Ford Motor Co.'s new 3.5-liter, 263-hp V-6 engine for 2007. The car also gets optional all-wheel drive and modest styling tweaks. The all-wheel-drive MKZ has a base price of $31,765, including shipping.
The MKZ is built at Ford's Hermosillo, Mexico, assembly plant. Production of the new Lincoln began this month. Mechanical siblings Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan also are assembled there.
