tx3capri

Hi out there. I have an 1989 Capri Turbo and have come across a KH TX3 1.8 turbo motor with a 'bigger and better' turbo on it. I was just wondering if it will fit in the capri without any major hassles? I believe the motor does not have the fuel injection on it so wanted to attach the fuel injection from the 1.6 motor. I have found out that the head on 1.8 is different to 1.6 and also the engine mounts are different. Just wondering if the gearbox will still bolt on? Any information on this would be really appreciated.

as far as i know your engine is a b6 1.6l mazda engine. alot of guys do the 1.8l conversion in lasers so i dont see why it wouldnt go. the 1.8 has different engine mounts and gearbox but dont quote me i think that your gearbox will mount up(i think)

I asked a guru if I could do the 4wd turbo thing to a capri and he said it was all bolt on if the laser was a 1988, but be careful with later 4wd lasers as they changed things after that.

If your tx3 didnt come from the factory 4wd, dont bother.
Your better off selling your current car, losing a few grand, and you will still be ahead by buying a 4wd turbo.
