1982 capri

Just bought an 82 capri, only done 33,000 (was kept in someones garage) and in good nick - no rust etc. What I want to know is if it has all the original features would it be a bad idea to put in a new CD player etc? Is there any way I can do this sympathetically so I could put the old radio back in at a later date?

Also wondering if I got it resprayed with something funky like flames would that affect the resale value in 5-6 years time? I reckon these cars could become classics.

Finally anyone know of a capri club near aylesbury??

Thanks!

Rose

What you need is a 'cut' dashboard, I've just got one for mine with a view to doing the same thing- take the originale radio complete with (uncut) dash front, save them for when you sell the car, and fit the CD or whatever with the pre-cut dash.
Paint jobs like that are always going to be a matter of taste, although limited to a minority of people who will appreciate it.

Thumbs down Re: 1982 capri

thanks for your reply but i had to give the car back to the guy who sold it to me on saturday. More and more was going wrong with it, until sat morning it wouldnt start at all. A recovery driver neighbor looked at it and said it was a mess! Was able to get my money back fortunately now going to get something abit more reliable :-(
