Greetings members of this fine message board,

I am going to attempt to replace my water pump on my '92 ford escort.

Can anyone provide me with any guides or how to's so that I may have a higher chance of success?

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

1. Drain cooling system, then remove timing belt.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove oil dipstick tube bracket bolt from water pump.
3. Remove bolts and gasket from water inlet pipe, Fig. 13.
4. Remove all but uppermost water pump mounting bolt, then lower vehicle.
5. Remove upper mounting bolt and water pump assembly.
6. Remove gasket material from water pump.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

5. Remove lower radiator hose.
6. Disconnect heater hose from water pump.
