1997 Escort - Door Lock - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hello

I have a 97 ford escort and have recently been having issues with the lock on the driver door. The door will not close (lock), the latch is stuck in the down (locked) position. After unlocking and locking the other doors repeatily the locking mechanism finally moved properlly to the corect spot. I also tried to move the mechanism manually but it wont budge when its in the locked position.

Does anyone have any input to this ?? im thinking its something with the actual mechanism in the door??

The door lock actuator is probably bad.
