Hello Guy:

Got a small problem, and need some serious Advice.

My Daughters 2000 Escort Driver side window took a dump today. The Cable to the Servo Motor Broke, causing the Window not to stay up.

After taking the Door Trim off, and looked at the Problem I found that the Cable that goes up and around the Track was broken. I followed that back to the Servo Motor where it was broken. Disconnected the Motor and Pulled the Cable out. Rigged the window to stay up till I could replace the motor and cable from a Junk Yard.

Here is my Problem ... Has anyone repaired something like this before, or do you know anyone?? Does anyone have Information on how to repair this Nasty little Critter??

I've replaced the the complete regulator on a '96 Contour. I think it is pretty hard to take the regulator apart and replace the cable because there's a spring inside and kind of hard to keep it from going everywhere. My suggestion would be get the whole regulator with motor and replace the whole unit. I don't remember just how many, but I don't think there was more than about 6 or 8 bolts to remove on the Contour to take the regulator out. I think I paid about $40. for a complete regulator at a JY. They wanted about $250.-$300. for a new one.

Thats what I was considering doing.

Found the exact part online at RockAuto.com for $86.00, but I am going to see if I can get one cheaper at a JY.

What I really need Is Help in the procedure in pulling that thing out...lol
