I'm not up with much of these Cosworths maybe HotRod or Big Block Ford you can clear this up as I feel 280kw would take it right up to a viper or vette.

I think you would be right cobra.280 kWs is well within the scope of these engines.In fact I think that may be done with a stage 2 kit. I think stage 3 takes them past 400hp.I have heard of an RS500 with a record breaking 900hp all from a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder.I put a post in the Cosworth area about it.I doubt there are many production cars around with the capabilitys of these cosworths.They absolutely rock.

Damn Man, but is that 280kw the stock cosworth they did in 95 and what was its performance? Says on supercars.net 13.6 1/4 and 0-100 4.9 seconds. I would have thought it would easily be in the 12s with that much power. I love Cosworths and the awd focus cosworth should give the evo 7 and sti a true caining.

I'm sure that car would have been modified.As far as i know most of the road going cossies were rated at around the 150 to 180 kW mark but i can tell you they were probably underated.These cars have immense capability to be modified very easily tho as the engine and everthing is basically full race and is just detuned for the road.

were the awd fwd or rwd? Mate I really dont know much about them. You reckon the next focus cosworth is gunna be the best cosworth ever produced from factory? I cutainly hope so and hope it has awd and ATLEAT 220kw!

They are awd. Hopefully we will get more info flowing on Cosworths soon and if I can will get info on upcoming vehicles soon.I reckon the next Focus should be better as technology is improving and from what I've heard you mite be right with the numbers .AWD and 220kW. The Focus seems smaller than the Escort though so I dunno if that is good or bad.

One thing I noticed about this car is the top speed rating. The Cos Sierra's are rated at 240 kph as from the factory in standard trim.

some of the information supplied from that site s incorrect. one fo the reasons i posted the question of 280kw as That car looks to be one of the cosworth escorts from factory.
