91 GT chimes after shutoff - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

My 91 GT makes a chiming noise after the engine si shutoff, and the key is removed, and continues to do so until I get out of the car and shut the door. Anyone know what this is all about? Also, the key doesnt go in and out of the ignition very smoothly. It sticks pretty bad. Any ideas? Thanks.

Does it happen when you open the door? Because that is suppose to happen. Your key problem, my '89 LX does that too, I think its the tumbler inside there, maybe it's supposed to do that.

Ahh, thanks... that is a hell of an annoying feature.... I think I'll write a letter! Lol... Im going to put some electric grease on the key and try to help the key sticking. Thanks again.
