my GF's about to buy a 91 ford laser littke 5 dorr thingy, auto... its a bloody nice car inside and out but its done 230000 kms, i know its alot but someone told me 230k for a 4 cyliner, ur looking at having to replace the whole motor... and also if someone knows what the compression should be would be good to know too. Cheers

They are a damn durable little car I had a KF TX3 that over 100k more then that when I sold it several years ago & I still see it out & about.

Lasers are good for allot of Ks.

My gfs KE has 230,000 with shadey servicing history and is still going strong.

Dont forget if you can spend the time doing it yourself a drop in low k/good nick engine can be done for about 750 including decent fluids/plugs/leads/filters.

Some suggestions see if you can get a Gli/S/Ghai they have a 1.8l EFI SOHC 16v and a 4 speed electronic auto which is a BIG step up in turns of drivability and having some balls!

my g/f little KC laser 1.6i Ghia has done 265,000 and still going strong. Only thing done to the motor apart from servicing and the cam belt is a little CV joint booty.
Bloody good car.
So good enfact that I'll be selling the KC and my EB falcon and replacing them with an AUII for the missus and a KH 4wd TX3 for me!
