94 Escort engine cuts outs when braking.

Hello,

I have a 1994 Ford Escort 1.3 and Ive been having a bit of a problem over the last few months and its getting worse. When driving and I brake, coming to a stop, the battery light comes on and the engine cuts out. It normally can start straight back up but sometimes that can take a while and occasionally need to keep reving the engine to start it. If the battery light comes on and its about to cut out then I can rev the engine to keep the engine running. Also, when I come to a complete stop the engine can cut out then aswell, even if Ive got the clutch down or in neutral.

Another thing Ive noticed lately is that when Im driving, the car starts to pull back and struggles to drive. This doesnt cause the engine to cut out but the car annoyingly just jogs forward for a while.

Both of these problems are happening more frequently now and it starting to annoy me. I really need to know if this is a problem that can be fixed or do I need to scrap it.

Im not sure if Im describing this well or not but if anyone can help me with these then please do before I drive the sodding thing in to a lake!

Thanks.

Possibly the throttle position sensor's at fault, it's on the side of the CFi unit and has a 3-wire loom on it.

You just need to make sure the lever on the switch engages correctly with the lever on the throttle butterfly, otherwise it's useless.
