I just got a 95 escort with 200k on it. It stalls about a minute after starting while idleing. Also stalls every time at a redlight unless i feather the gas pedal. It doesn't stall at stop if a/c is running. Also, it bogs when making right hand turns, like on an on ramp to interstate.
Already tried: new IAC, cleaned MAF, new plugs and wires, new fuel filter, checked fuel pressure: 40 KOEO, 32 engine running. when it stalls, the pressure goes back to 40.
Any ideas or help greatly appreciated!!

Ok, Finally made time to test it. It came up with code 172, lean mixture.
I'm going to check egr inlet hoses for leaks behind the engine, before looking towards the o2 sensor. Any other suggestions?

Get some MAF cleaner and clean the MAF. Check for any vacuum leaks.

I've replaced all of the vac and pcv hoses toward the front and left (drivers) side of engine compartment already, most were in bad shape. I'll clean the maf again. Is there an adjustment on the Iac?

Ok, Cleaned MAF...no change it seems. not finding vac leak anywhere, I sprayed some carb cleaner all around the engine hoses with it running and no change in rough idle. Hmm, but I pulled the hose to checking the pcv valve, And the pcv valve came out of its socket easily, as if it were just sitting on there, no twisting or pulling to get it out. with the valve on the hose still, I plugged the bottom of the pcv with my finger and the engine smoothed right out.

i had the same problem with my 04 escape. spent alot of money and never really got the problem fixed. finally the alternator went and i thought that would solve the problem and it didn't. i finally traded it in, too much stress.
