95 Escort tranny - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I have a 1995 Escort w/ 1.9L with a 4sp auto Mazda 4EAT "TJ" and it just died. Found one in an 88 but dont know if it will match up. Can anyone tell me what years will fit. Thanks!!

I'm not sure of the years that will fit but the 88 won't for sure, The 95 had electronic controlled shifting and sensing. Hopefully some one will post what they know about what will fit. Searching here, Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market, it looks like 91-95 will work. That would have to be your choice. If you're plannng on keeping it, why not have it rebuilt and you'll be done with it. A used one may fall apart in a short time.

Rebuild was way too much since only want the car to last another yr or so. But, I went to link you put in, punched info and you're right on the money! Thanks for the link, it will come in handy.
