97 escort shifts into neutral randomly????if i shut the car down and give it about 1 min itll start and drive again when it does shift into neutral you cant put it in any gear gears are p r n OD d 2 1 not if you goto park then back to a gear still nothing any ideaS?

Have you checked the gearbox oil level?

yea the fluid is fine
maybe a filter?

I'd get a diagnostic run on it, see if there's any fault codes in there.
