I bought this car brand new, and have had nothing but problems with it, including a bad vibration in the drive line, i.e. transmission, and 3 transmission repairs. The vibration is so bad that you can feel it in the gas pedal, the steering wheel, and when you are sitting at a stop light, you can see the headlights bounching in the vehicle in front of you. I have taken very good care of this car, as I needed it to last a very long time. The dealership has done all that Ford Motor Company will allow them to do and I don't blame the dealership. Where I stand now with the car is I have hired an attorney. He has contacted Ford Motor Company, and their representative has stated that this vehicle is operating normally. Ford Motor Company has sent us a letter stating that they can offer us no more assistance at this time. At this time the car is back at the dealership with another transmission failure. The manager hints that he knows there is a major problem with this vehicle, but his hands are tied. I would like to hear from others that have had these same problems with the 99 Ford Escort ZX2. Please help! Email me greenbaybarb@yahoo.com Thank you in advance!
Have the replaced the Torque Converter? You say that it has been repaired. What was done? Was it a R&R or a piece by piece repair? Several others have had issues similar to this in other Ford Vehicles and the TC was the culprit.
