Brake pedal switch and turn signal

I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I have a 99 Escort. last week the left rear turn signal
and left brake light stopped lighting.
I suspected the bulb (1 bulb for both) so replaced it.
Still no light. Checked new and old bulb, both good.
All fuses good.
Front left turn signal blinks fine but fast
indicating an open bulb circut.

I noticed about the same time that started the
dash brake indicator light goes on and off intermittingly.

So my question is could a bad brake pedal switch
effect the left rear turn signal?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Brake pedal switch and turn signal

The problem is more than likely the combination (turn signal) switch. Try spraying electrical contact cleaner around the hazard switch button and operate the hazard switch a few times. That will help for awhile.

Re: Brake pedal switch and turn signal

Thanks rtg143 for the reply. It turned out to be a bad
bulb socket.
Thanks again I'm sure I'll be back with future problems.
