Question changing turn signal glass on 1990 escort?

I have a 1990 Escort GL that has cracked or broken front turn signal glasses. I've bought new turn signal glasses, front left and right, to replace the old broken ones. I am however a bit unsure how to go about the actual replacement.

If anoyone knows how to do this, I'd appreciate the advice! Mind you, this is a european Escort. I don't know if the american version has the same headlights and turn signals.

It seems to me like I have to remove the entire headlight in order to remove the turn signal glass. Even though they are actually two separate pieces. If this is the case, is it possible to remove the headlight and then get it back without messing up the alignment/calibration?

PS. I can send photos if it is useful. DS.

Yes, sadly the headlamps will have to come out on this model to change the indicators. From what I can remember, there's a couple of black inserts that need to be knocked round/twisted to release them. I think there's one on the bottom of the h/lamp that needs to be popped off. Adjusters don't need to be moved, so there shouldn't be a problem with h/lamp alignment afterwards, so long as everything went back the way it came off.

ok, sounds about right.
there are two black knobs/inserts on top of the headlight casing which (with som force) kan be twisted 90 degrees to release the headlight. one of the ajustment screws (top-inner) is connected to one of these inserts.

the second adjustment screw (bottom-outer) is at the bottom of the headlight casing. it's a bit hard to see how it is attached. the headlight casing will have to be released from this as well but I don't know how to do that without altering the adjustment.

Do you know what i'm talking about?

Yes, mate- like I said, the headlamp just needs popping off the socket- grit your teeth and prise it off with a suitable implement!
