Compatible Engines?

I've got a 93 1.9L Escort LX coupe and was wondering what engines are "plug & play" interchangable as to mounts and transmission already in my car. I had read that the 2.0 DOHC of a 97+ ZX2 would be no problem mounting and it supposedly has the same block as the 1.9. Is there any truth to this? If so, what would I have to do to make it work? and how much base power would be available?

Also...I was considering building up the power in the puny 1.9, as I have found a site that sells adjustable cam gears and cams and valves and air/fuel controllers, and transmission controllers and some other goodies for the electrical system. Total price of all parts available for my engine run near $1200 (that I have found) and I can do all the work with my uncle as he's got all the tools. A few friends and I estimated the horsepower would be at at least 150, but possibly around 200 or more...depending on if we do things correctly. Yes we are tuners and we love to race...and this escort isn't too bad considering it's only around 90hp...I'd like to smoke those Honda's and ricers though, you know.

Anyway...if you can help...thanx.
