Coolant Leak

HI!!

I have a 1999 Ford Escort SE. With a 2.0L engine. I have a small leak coming from the Lower Radiator Hose.

I was wondering if anyone can help me?? How hard would it be if I would try to repair it myself?? And what would it take to do the Job??

I am pretty handy with tools, and I have changed my own oil.

So with most thanks ... Keri

Re: Coolant Leak

Is the hose old and has a hole in it or could it just be loose? To replace them, if they still have the squeaze clamps, squeaze the clamp and pull the clamp about 2" from the end. Then the hose pulls off. You have to drain the system first. Theres a plastic wingnut drain plug at the bottom of the radiator. You'll have to raise it up to get it and make sure you use jack stands before you get under it.

Re: Coolant Leak

Thank you rtg143 this will help greatly.

I believe the just worn, or that the leak is down by the spout, leading into the hose.

I will start to Drain the Radiator tomorrow.
