Escort battery problem!

Hello,

Until last week my ford escort, 1.8L TD (1995 model) was running fine. I started the car to to go for shopping and it started normally but when I came back from shopping and tried to restart the car, it was dead. I thought someone left a light on and that is why the battery got flattened. I started the car with jump and it started. Later I recharged the battery. When I refitted the recharged battery, it started normally but again the second day when I tried to restart it, all panel lights were of normal intensity but as soon as I turned the switched they vanished and nothing happened.

I am not sure how battery discharged so rapidly and from where to start the investigation and test the suspected component.

Any clue and suggestion?

Thanks.

Re: Escort battery problem!

i would check ya battery leads and make sure theyre bolted onto teh battery tight enough, i know it sounds very obvious but sometimes thats the way it happens.

another thing is to check to see if the alternator is charging the battery and working properly, make sure all cables and wires running to and from it are all connected properly sometimes its just the earth wire isnt connected properly anymore.

or it could just be that your battery is up the clacker and ya need a new one :D
