Now.

I went to the Classic Adelaide Rally today and seen some Esky's doing their thing. Now I am inspired.

How the hell do you know if this is a good deal or not? I have never bought a rally car, and I don't know anyone else that has! Can someone please give me some advice on what to look for? I have a local club I can join to get practice before I take on Richo at Targa so I think something like this is ideal as I don't have to waste thousands building a car. Has anyone done any rallying here?

u need to know the basic fundumentals on cars in the first place mechanical apptitude or someone with an idea on this model car that knows what his looking at see i had one of these cars RS2000 with 2litre cosworth to3 turbo Lsd 'diff lotus brake calipers and disc rotors the body in these r fantastik for rallying as the centre of gravity is well balanced in these cars which gives them a high engine capacity short drive train again very responsive system which makes these highly sought after i also throw a 302 winsor in mine which gives you some real power out in the bush with more than enough torque there also have a full chasis no mk1 half chasis shittt if u r thinking of getting into rally escort or datsun 1600 good modles to start with

Thanks for the site, I was aware of that event and am spewing we don't have anything like that in SA.. I would really like a MKI Escort to muck around with, not neccesarily to rally, I just love the shape.
