Can you swap a starter motor from a cortina into an escort??
Mk2 escort ( Australian )
Same bell housing on the gear box.

yes the cortina starter will fit but it will be a bit tight, will need some patience as it would be slightly longer than the escoert one.

it was a little longer but also had a small drive gear so sometimes it wanted to lock up. But i needed more kick since i have a moded engine with pretty high compression. The old an escort starter does the trick just in the mornings it has a bit of a hard time when the pistons are being pushed up to max compression. Thinking of getting another dead escort start and moding the cortina starter with the escort drive gear.
