Euro Capri

since you've all been asking about the Fords of europe I thought I could add my 2 cents worth about the Capri's

I run a 1986 2.8 injection special with stage 3 heads , Kent V21 cam and janspeed manifolds and magnex exhaust , its been de-badged and back to original stratos silver and a very nice set of polished RS four spoke but the 7x13 versions , sorry no picks at present as the car is just on the road this week , I haven't had it dyno tested yet but I'm hopefull for a high 190bhp or poss 200 and again not tested on a strip yet but feels like a high 6 seconds on the 0-100kph.

So since i ain't got pics yet I thought I might give you some sites to check out .

This link site has almost every euro capri site on it
http://www.hvidberg.com/capri.htm

This used to be Capri Power and was an excellent site but they have changed it now to encompass all euro fords and are just starting up .
http://www.nickpeat.hostinguk.com/

This is another one and if these guys don't know whats going on in the capri scene in the UK then nobody knows .

Hope you enjoy them and will post some pics soon.

John

Thanks for the offer . thought it might be good if you guys have any queries about ours??? i.e if someone imported one or if they need parts/advice as I know that most of the capri clubs and specialist are willing to export and of course the advice is free.

anyway it may even be the reverse theres plenty of people here who are trying to fit v8's into capri's and they don't know how to go about it the most popular is the rover v8 but there is nothing better than v8 lump even the american mustang has problems keeping up with that kind of machine !!!!

we can get most parts we need from the states but the capri fans over there seem to be happy with v6 and not many go all out for a good old 302ci

THE BURRBLE IS JUST PURE MUSIC !!!!!

theres stuff that Ford did all over the world that we here don't know about , south african XR8/perana capri and the older ones like the aussie fairlane/falcon's (when customised they can look so slick!!!).

so don't worry will be checking the site out with the other regulars i visit every night .

And as soon as I get those pics from my mate I'll post them on.

Cheers mate!

Any chance of attaching our web address to your signatures on the other sites you visit?

We really would like as many people as we can get from your side of the world calling in from time to time!

Ian.

BTW My dog comes from Scotland, well her family does anyway!
My family name is Welsh, and I love Scottland. I hope to get there one day!

28s3 or John whichever you like, I have seen a Capri GT with a 2v windsor 351 block. Don't ask me how he fitted it in there or what mods he needed to do to the engine bay ect although I would have some Idea. What egnine did the orignal Capri GT have? I saw a Capri at the sane fird open day and it only had a 2L 4 cylinder i think?

the gt came in four varients 1.3 4 cylinder , 1.6 4 cylinder , 2.0 v4 (I sure the one you seen may have been a pinto conversion either that or the maket was different in different countries ??) and the mighty 3.0 v6

theres also various levels of spec for each gt

gt
gt xl
gt xlr

not sure of actual spec of each

the pinto 2.0 was introduced on the MKII and the v4 is now getting very rare (just not as popular as not very tuneable)
