Ford Escort 99 Engine problem HELP

Hello, I have a ford zx2 escort 99 model and I'm having an issue when the car heats up, however not to the point it's overheated per say, the car will act as if its running out of gas and then stall sometimes and sometimes it will clear itself and run ok. I let the car sit for a few mins and it starts right up and runs great for a while again. This happens only when it gets really hot or has ran for a long period of time. It always seems to start and run again for a while. I just had the plugs, wires, fuel filter, timing belt, and water pump changed out a month ago but it was doing the same thing before the repairs. I also ran fuel injector cleaner through it twice. The car idles really rough when the AC is on but not always, only when hot. I'm not getting any engine codes either, I have never seen an engine actually since i bought the car. The car idles really rough when the AC is on but smooth when off. I first thought it was a vapor lock but it turned out not to be the case. Any suggestions? Thanks Scott

Re: Ford Escort 99 Engine problem HELP

Yes, that is why I re-posted it, hoping to get some more input. Can a fuel pump get over heated ? and would it not output a code of any kind? I'm thinking a fuel pump would not give a code, I just don't have the money to throw parts into it and that not be the problem. I'm thinking it might be the alternator, going to take it over and have it checked for output any other suggestions anyone?

Re: Ford Escort 99 Engine problem HELP

I'm afraid you've lost me . You say you have taken the previous advice given and that is why you reposted and are now thinking that it may be the alternator . I suggested on 7/15/2011 " Just a thought , but if it's only when it gets really hot , the electric rad cooling fan will be kicking in also with the air con on .Might be worthwhile checking alternator output when under this load to see if it copes with the demand ? " Have you also tried the other suggestion ie. " also try cleaning the MAF sensor " as you dont mention this in your post either .If we dont get the correct info it makes it hard to help you .
