Question Help..98 Escort flooded, what to do?

My son drove our 98 Escort onto a flooded street and got stuck. Had to be towed out. Water up to the tops of the wheels and got into the cabin a few inches deep. Car will turn over but not start. Any ideas?

If you let it dry out, it may help. Have you checked for spark at the plugs when cranking? Do you hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds every time the key is turned to on (not start)?

Just to add , check coil pack is not wet / damp and shorting . (depending on engine in car ) Also , to be safe , check oil level in engine to make sure no water in sump .
