I own a 1973 XLGT capri and it has a v4 engine in it and apparently they dont go very well. As it is my first car my old man won't let me get a 6 or 8 cylinder engine for it, I thought a straight 4 cortina engine would go quite well in it. I found one the other day with a seira gearbox on it.
Should i buy it can you think of something better to put in it.
go the pinto and 5spd!!!! Throw a set of extractors and a decent air filter on it and you'll have a grin from ear to ear! Six months down the track you will want some more grunt out of it, then look at a bit of a cam, but they are a fantastic little motor.

You could always put a Cosworth 2ltr turbo engine in it! Its a four cylinder just like Dad wants you to have!!! Limit it to around 400hp and youl be laugh'n!!!
Yeah I think ill stick with the pinto, mainly cause I don't really wont kill myself this point in time. But yes the cosworth would be awsome!!!!!!! :s6:
A V4 in a capri heard of the transit V4 mtr being fitted but never seen one.
Like the V6 mtrs in the capri's they chew timing gears.
I would think performance parts would nearly be impossible to aquire for them.
The OHC 2L mtr can be made to perform very well, and in a capri body plenty of room for turbo fitment.
Yeah thanks for that and apparently they are quite rare, but unfortunitly not worth any thing and do not go that great either.Might just wreck it somehow. (If you know what I mean)
