How big is the petrol Tank - Ford Forums

Hi

I have Ford Laser 85 Auto, 1.6. I am bit suspecious about the petrol indicator. I don't drive much so every week i roughly feel petrol worth of $15 @ .80c p/L. when petrol indicator is at top half it seems like its falling down fast, when i check km i will be just doing 10km or 20km. After a week probably i drive 60km-80km it will go down to top of red lines(i got few red lines). when i feel petrol again when reach around $12 mark, i get the indication of petrol nogel is touching petrol on tank. When come back to the car i can see petrol indicator goes to the top half of the inidcator.

my question is, What is the actual capacity of petrol tank in litres? is there any way of checking the petrol in tank rather than indicator? Does it mean i have some problem with my indicator?

Any Suggestion how i might help myself..

The size of the tank should be 45litre's,laser's are bad for the guage not reading proberly,mine sit's on empty for 150klm's,but I dont go by the guage I know roughly how many klm's I can do because I work out the economy every time I fill up,you can adjust the sender on top of the tank(involve's taking the back seat out)to get a better reading.
