I'm confused about my Escort - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I own a 1989 Ford Escort LX, I did a background check on it and I don't know if mine was built in UK or Mexico or America?
I need help?

Hi Vlad. Find the body data plate which should be rivited to the car usually under the hood and this may have all the info you require.

Don't think any AWD LX excorts were made in the UK

This might help a little bit.....
These are what the first 3 letters of your VIN mean, only got the Euro one's tho...

SFA = Ford Motor Company Ltd. (England)
TW2 = Ford Lutisania sarl (Portugal)
UNI = Henry Ford and Son Ltd. (Ireland)
VS6 = Ford Espana sa (Spain)
WF0 = Ford Werke A.G. (Germany)
WF1 = Ford Werke A.G. (Germany)
XLC = Ford Nederland nv (Netherlands)

There is a VIN decoder I found http://www.btinternet.com/~madmole/ only does Euro Fords though.

I don't have any of those letters on there. If anyone have a VIN numbers that comes from Mexico or America that would be appreciative.
