ok lets start from the top ... i bought my 76 escort 3 months ago ... basically i got it cheap cos they thought the clutch was gone ... it just needed a new cable ... THANKFULLY! anyhoo ... its up and running and beautiful BUT i'm not sure where to go from here ....the interiors half done ... its painted blue outside yet only half of the interior is painted the same blue ... the rest is canary yellow ... its now a 2L engine so i'm happy with that for the minute .... i'm thinking paint first interior second then engine .... is this the best plan of attack? seeing as its going to be pulled to bits for the respray anyways?

its probably a dumb question but its first car syndrome ....

Well best to do engine first avoids scratching stuff when pulling it out and putting it back in, then spray the car, a good engine is better then a good looking car going nowhere with a dead motor :0), then lastly interioir.

yeah good point ... the engine is pretty well finished ... ( my fiance wants to put a nissan turbo in it) i almost slapped him when he said it.

so i might just wait til its finished then continue on .... i want to add a picture but it wont let me ... i'll put it on my prifile i guess.. thanks again :)

Have a look at the suspension. How does it handle. This is a strong suit of escorts and makes the car really enjoyable. Any rubber in the bushes replace with nolathane, clean up the rear leaves, remove the rubber packing around the rear springs, new steering rack bushes, bigger front swaybar, a decent set of adjustable shocks all round, capri struts or lower stiff springs in the front, etc etc... and rebuild the brakes.

I'd agree with Dellboy999, if you're going to respray it, leave that for later, it's more important to get the car running nicely, then you can make it look better.
