KE Laser Engine Number Location

Hi,
I have a 88 KE Laser, 1.6L Carb and am stuffed if I can find the engine number. Where is the bugger located?

I seem to remember when I had to get the RWC to sell ours that it was at the front of the car and down very low. They had to use the pressure washer to clean all the gunk off it to see it. Hope that helps.
