MKII escort engine conversions

i was just wondering.... has anyone heard of an FJ20 being put into the MKII engine bay??? and if so would it beall that difficult and would someone be able to do it in adelaide. my friend saidthat it shouldnt be too hard but i wanted a second opinion.

WHY???????????The fj20 is becoming an older engine,it will need a rebuild ,while still a good engine for performance parts are become hard to find,they are also heavy.If you do a conversion at all your best bet would be an sr20t,before you even think about it,it will cost around $5-6gs if somone is doing it for you.

i thought it would cost a lot more than that for an sr20det cause i wanted that first but i saw one in HOT4's and they said they ahd to lower the engine mounts and then peel back the body around the gearbox so the nissan box can fit in. then u got the whole ecu to take into account and then u ahve to change the driveline, brakes, diff etc. oh well, maybe i should just stay with the 2L.

how much would a cossie cost to buy and get put in????
