I don't think it's possible for me to not be biased on this one...

GO THE RS!

If you like RS Escorts, have a look at The RS Owners Club Web site, I'm going to join once I've got my Mk II registered...

Oh, and who could forget The Works Escorts

Re: mrk2 RS2000 info

Go the RS. The only downside I found using it as a daily driver was the gearbox was only a four speed. You can get the sierra 5sp box fairly cheaply now though.

Insurance would be a killer on the TX3. The RS would be expensive through mainline insurance companies, So I'd recommend going through a broker.

I have seen a couple of turbo RS2000's. 300hp running 14psi+ boost and water injection. Was a draw through carby system. Very quick, but not too good on the standard diff.

Factory colours, my favorite was the Onyx Black RS...

Re: mrk2 RS2000 info

I forgot to mention - get a 2-door RS, or as a last resort, a 4-door.

I've owned both, and the 2-door is more sexy with a sportier shape, and easier to sell. Some classify the 4-door RS as a copy or a mockup.... But the 2 door will hold it's value better. 2-doors are lighter as well!!

hmm yeah I know...they also pull a nice premium over a four door. Most 2 doors ive seen are around the $6k mark. This sedan in the previous post is $4k and I haven't even gone to see it so im hoping I can haggle him down to maybe $3500. Is that a bit optimistic?

So yeah Id love a coupe, it would just mean I would have to hold off for a bit longer. Like another 4 months longer.

If it's what you prefer, go for it...

I waited 7 years to get the right mustang at the right price. Looked at quite a few, but in the end persistance paid off.

I've owned both the 2 door and the 4 door RS2000. If you don't take passengers often, get the 2 door.

lol..I dont really care if I cant take passengers...its my car...lol
All I need is room for my GF and I and Im happy. Hahah she kinda freaked when I told her Im getting an RS..but she knows that when it comes to cars I get what I want.

I have a fairly long plan for this car...I would get one, then when I finshed my degree (hopefully in 3 years) Ill have a job, get a nice falcon or somehting and put the RS in the garage and go all out on it. Ive always wanted to race in a targa or somehting like that.

Now Im confused...I might just save some more and then get a coupe..ahh!

Re: mrk2 RS2000 info

The GF will love the RS... Mine did, and she's now my wife. Infact, she is still dark at me for selling one of them, a factory black four door. I even bought her an orange coupe as a replacement, but she wanted the black one back... ah well. Can't always win.

Re: mrk2 RS2000 info

Well it might be my first car but owning the RS2000 is really living the dream. Although its not registered yet (it should be soon) ill be joining the RS2000 owners club when it is. Just one thing, i cant work out what colour it is, its purpilish blue sort of colour with orange stripes, never seen one like it and its an awsome colour.

Go The RS, you wont look back.

If it's the factory colour, it sounds like you have the midnight blue. Never seen one with orange stripes... Any pics? Love to see some!!! Also, love your avatar!
