Mate I am in Adelaide - you got MSN?

if you add me:

neris_27@hotmail.com

Good to see your bro has taste, my brother also has a capri! 2 Capris in one family. His is a 1600 Kent too i think. Goes ok but lacks the 'balls' of the 2l Pinto after 1st gear. Escorts and Capris are great little cars to drive around in because they just stick to the road like you mention.

I hope to get my car back on the road soon... CANT WAIT!

Congrats on the esky purchase.

I too just recently acquired one.... a '79 Mk2 Coupe 2litre Manual.
Ive already ripped the engine out and dismantled it. I'm giving it the full treatment... 30thou overbore, stroked, ported inlet, bigger valves etc. Its my project hehe.
It has minimal rust which i'll repair and respray the whole thing... although I cant decide on a colour, I want a light colour... maybe acid rush, blood orange or citric acid...

Go the Esky.

My 1979 2.0 litre Rallye Pack was my first brand new car. I loved it and cried when I sold it - too make way for the kids.

Well done mate, you will have a ball!

Very Good, my First & current car is a Mk2 2lt Esky, i love it. Its such a fun car to drive and boy is it loud & fast, ive only done minor mods such as exhaust & minor head work but it still flies

You can really tell they where bred for rallying.

Enjoy yaself

"who can deny that the sound of a pinto (or kent, in my case) just sounds damn cool"

Your right MaDDeSTMaN .... there's something special about the sound of a 2 Litre, especially a twin webbered one at full revs ..... the induction roar is just glorious!!

The pics below are of the race engine from my old MK1 Escort .... thought you might be interested :s5

Very nice looking Pinto. Judging by the look of it, just starting it up and listening to it idle would be enough to make me drool...

Thanks for posting those pictures, it's good to know I'm not the only one who has an interest in Pintos :)
