roll new 1997 escort sport

I just got a 1997 Ford Escort Sport. Never been much of a Ford fan, so I'm kinda in the dark on what I can do for modifications to it. I've found a wing I'm gonna buy, but I'm lookin to lower it, add an exhaust system, new wheels and tires and so on. If any of you have an inkling of what I can do-PLEASE let me know. I love the car and I've only had it for a day and a half already. It's so sporty and fun! Any tips/tricks/etc...please feel free!! I'm lookin to have some fun with it!

Is that a 4-door or the ZX2? I could help you out if have a ZX2 or go to erebuni.net and see you can come with. There isn't any super or turbochargers for Escorts, just to let you know.

Vlad there are actually SC's that you can get and fit. It is a matter of how deep yourpockets are. I have seen people adapt a Jackson Racing as well as Vortech V-5's to the 2L engines that were used in the 97 ... actually a 98 model just sold early in 97.

Re: new 1997 escort sport

Also to answer Jen there are tons of places to look to get pieces for this car. Springs look at Eibach or H&K. If you want adjustability then get soe coilovers. Wheels and tires...that is up to you, but you can take a look at tirerack.com or discounttiredirect.com. Exhaust... go to any shop and have them fab one up for you instead of paying the outrageous prices that vendors ask for them. You can pick up some maganflows or flowmasters or any number of the brands out there and have a shop fab up something for around 200 or so. And in FL there are tons of shops you can go to for that.
